About the Journal
Al-Furat Journal for Health and Medical Sciences (FJHMS) is a peer-review, double-blinded international scientific journal published by College of Health and Medical Technologies/Kufa; Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University (ATU), the Republic of Iraq. FJHMS has ISSN 3081-1104 print and 3081-1112 online. Four issues are publish per a year. The journal publishes original and high-quality scientific articles dedicated to highlights the latest researches in pre-clinical, clinical, health, and medical sciences.

Al-Furat Journal for Health and Medical Sciences (FJHMS) is an open-access online journal, with double blind peer-review published by Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University. The journal publishes high-quality original articles, review articles, short communication in the areas of Biochemistry, Immunology, Parasitology, Microbiology, Virology and mycology, and Public Health Sciences. FJHMS accept articles form all countries in the world.
Aims & Scope
The scope of the journal includes the latest development in biomedical aspects such as Clinical and Biochemistry, Immunology, Parasitology, Microbiology, and Virology. Other disciplines such as Molecular Biology and genetics will also be considered for publication. Moreover, our scope is not-limited to biomedical science but it also includes Public Health Sciences and radiology.
Our goal is to improve the quality of research and raise the grade of healthcare provided to patients by focusing on fundamental researchers and clinicians in various specialties and academic fields.

It is an open-access publication. Under the terms outlined below, users are entitled to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the complete texts of articles.

Peer Review Process
Please notice that the journal follow the double-blind review. Anonymous Reviewer/Anonymous Author.
The process of peer-review as follow
1- After receiving the MS the Editorial Office determined whether it is fits or not our scope and aim of our journal, the period for the first decision is 3-4 day. If the the MS does not fit our scope (desk rejection) will be sent to the authors.
2- If The manuscript pass the first step, the editorial sent it to at least 2 reviewers for peer-review (first round review), the period of 1st review is between 4-6 weeks. the percent of rejection in this step is 20%.
3- The reviewer comments will be sent-out to the author and the Editorial office gives the authors 15 day for minor correction and 30 day for major corrections for response and re-submit a revised version of the manuscript. The authors have to highlight their response in the revised version and/or submit a separated file for point-point reply to reviewer comments.
4- The revised and point-point files will be sent for the 2nd round review. the reviewers give a 3 days for sent their decision, and once the decision received the author will be notified.
5- The choice to approve or reject the paper ultimately rests with the editor-in-chief. The manuscript is returned to the author if any revisions are needed. the final version will be sent to plagiarism Committee to check for plagiarism and artificial intelligence (AI).
6- The authors notified to sign the copyright form and pay the publication fees. then An acceptance letter is sent to the author right away if they are approved.
7- If the manuscript is passed all the above points. the Editorial office sent it out for publication in the nearest volume and the authors will notified by email.
Notice : Authors have the right to withdraw their manuscript at anytime before receiving an acceptance letter without any charged. If the authors decide to withdraw after receiving the acceptance letter 25000 ID are charged for that.
Ethics Approve
Research involving human subjects must be authorized by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee and adhere to the Declaration of Helsinki. An ethics approval statement must be included by authors in their manuscript's "Declarations" section.
Moreover, We have not a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) yet, but we try to apply for the membership. If the journal is accepted as a member in COPE the journal will follow the COPE polices.
Conflicts of Interest
Any possible financial or non-financial conflicts of interest must be declared by all authors, reviewers, and editors. All manuscripts must include a "Competing Interests" statement.
Copyright
Paper will not be published unless a copyright form is signed by all authors or by an authorized author on behalf of all authors.
The Form should be signed only by Author(s) who hold Copyright or who have created Works-for-Hire.
Plagiarism:
Plagiarism is strictly prohibited in the journal. Professional plagiarism-checking software (Turnitin) is used to examine all submitted publications for plagiarism. Manuscripts that have an unacceptable similarity index due to plagiarism are; firstly; give a chance to the authors to reduce plagiarism under 20%, if the authors have failed to reduce the percentage under 20% the manuscripts are rejected right away. Although, artificial intelligence (AI) will be check and should be less than 25%, and the authors have to clarify that they have been used AI in preparing of their manuscripts. The authors should indicated if they used AI for language correction.
Fees
When Manuscript is accepted; the authors have to paid 50,000 ID before the manuscript processed to publication. There are no more fees will be charged.
Manuscripts form outside Iraq are published for free.
